Listing Indonesia’s SOEs: still a waiting game

Indonesia is making a renewed push to list its myriad state-owned enterprises in a bid to relieve pressure on public finances. But those plans could yet be scuppered by a host of issues, not least of which is domestic politics.

The country’s minister for state-owned enterprises, Rini Soemarno, said last week that a number of SOEs were seeking to float their shares, with Indonesia Asahan Aluminium (Inalum) set to lead the charge.
