Banks eyeing $2bn Sydney rail link financing

Banks are in talks with MTR Corp and other project operators for a $2bn debt financing for the North West Rail Link in Sydney, Australia.

MTR Corp was part of a consortium that in June won a $3.7bn contract to develop the North West Rail Link project in Sydney. The total cost of the project is $8bn of which $2bn will be financed by debt, said bankers.
