Multi-borrower SFR ABS held up

Market participants including Colony American Finance have been talking about the first multi-borrower single family rental securitizations for months. But operational complexities could hold the asset class’s debut back even longer.

A multi-borrower deal would have to account for different sub-pools of collateral owned by multiple property operators — different from the ten SFR deals so far which have included a first-lien loan taken out by just one operator.
