EIB enhances its first German project bond
Via Solutions Nord has issued a €429m private placement as part of the funding for a €600m extension of the A7 motorway in northern Germany.
The European Investment Bank is investing €170m in the project, including a €90m credit enhancement for the bond - the first time the EIB has enhanced a project bond in Germany.
The project bond credit enhancement consists of an on-demand letter of credit, which gives the project company liquidity
