FlexiGroup to kick off busy Aussie dollar summer as euros fade

Consumer lender Flexigroup is ready to kick off what could be a busy summer for Australian ABS issuers in their domestic currency, as bankers’ hopes of seeing more euro issuance are hit by an unfavourable shift in basis swaps.

One syndicate team’s pipeline already includes five different Australian deals, with one pencilled in for this month, one in July, two in August and one in mid-September. However, a banker on the desk declined to comment on what amount of those transactions may be sold in non-domestic currencies.
