Russian return sees Turks pick up pace with flood of deals

With rumours rife that two Russian borrowers are about to break the country’s silence and launch new bonds, the EM bond market is awash with Turkish borrowers looking to rush through deals while they have a clear run.

Market conditions are strong for bond issuance, meaning there are plenty of good reasons for Turkish — and other emerging market — borrowers to be hitting up deals. But Turkish banks in particular have been moving fast to take advantage, before Russian competition returns.
