Risk of Ukraine war scorned by investors as US bonds tighten

Tanks are moving in Ukraine and shots being fired are no longer isolated. But to look at financial markets, you would think Russia’s president Vladimir Putin had flown to Kiev to kiss and make up.

The S&P 500 rose on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, gaining 2.3%, and while European stocks fell on Tuesday afternoon, by Wednesday’s close they had recovered and then some.
