Wells Fargo beats post-earnings rush with funding spree

Wells Fargo this week took advantage of a lull in primary investment-grade activity with a double swoop on the dollar market, taking home more than $4bn.

Wells became the first of the big US banks to hit the market in what is expected to be a deluge of post-earnings issuance. The bank took advantage of a supportive tone from borrowers in both senior unsecured and tier one capital.
