Markit Crossover index grows to 60 names — Barclays forecasts entrants

Markit, the financial information provider, will increase the number of constituents in its iTraxx Crossover index of credit default swaps by 20%, as the European high yield market keeps growing.

Issuance by European speculative grade companies reached a record €87.4bn in 2013 — a whole €26.6bn more than the previously highest yearly issuance in 2012, according to Credit Suisse. And bankers expect issuance to grow further in 2014, potentially to up to €100bn.
