Bassett will replace Bill Fish, who left last week after 15 years at Citigroup. Fish joins Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein as global head of loans syndicate and will start there on May 8.

Bassett joined Citigroup in 1991 in New York. He became a member of the loan syndications team in 1993 and in late 1996 he relocated to London where he has focussed on acquisition and telecom financings.
