Wall-to-wall financials as Wachovia, Citi, Household, MetLife sell $13bn of bonds
The US bond market?s dominance by financial sector issuers this year reached extraordinary proportions this week, when virtually all the $13bn of domestic high grade bond issues came from banks, insurers or finance companies of some description.
Wachovia, the bank holding company, raised $5bn; Citigroup jumped in with a $1bn five year global; Household brought a $700m floater and others like MetLife, Allstate, KeyCorp and the UK?s Nationwide Building Society joined the roster.
