StanChart wins China market maker status

Standard Chartered this week became an official market maker in China’s interbank bond market.

It is only the third foreign firm to be given market-maker status, after JPMorgan and Citi. The firm will now have to continually provide bids and offers for bonds in the market, rather than choosing when to provide two-way prices, although it will not open up new areas ...
