Ontario shines in dollars

Dollar issuance by the sovereign, supranational and agency community remained at a low ebb this week, despite positive economic news from the US and a generally issuer friendly market backdrop.

The Province of Ontario was the only candidate to take the plunge, issuing a highly successful $2bn 10 year global bond, kicking off the borrower’s 2010-2011 fiscal year, which started on April 1.
