CBA steps in for ABN as NAB drops out

Commonwealth Bank of Australia revealed this week that it is in exclusive talks with RBS over a potential acquisition of the Australian and New Zealand subsidiaries of ABN Amro. News of CBA’s interest emerged just a day after National Australia Bank confirmed it was pulling out of negotiations.
