PTTEP raises $500m in rare dollar bond from Thailand

PTT Exploration and Production raised $500m this week in a rare international bond deal from a Thai borrower — the biggest from the country since the 1997 Asian financial crisis.

Credit Suisse and Royal Bank of Scotland managed the five year issue, which was priced at a spread of 230bp over Treasuries. That was at the tight end of 230bp-240bp guidance, and came after the lead managers had whispered pricing of "the low 200s" to investors.
