UPDATE: Ivanhoe increases placing to A$269m

Strong demand from institutional funds helped miner Ivanhoe Australia increase the size of its equity placing from A$231m to A$269m when the institutional tranche closed on Wednesday.

The company, a subsidiary of Canada’s Ivanhoe Mines, this week launched a capital increase that was split into an entitlement offer and a retail tranche. Bookrunners Morgan Stanley and UBS increased the institutional tranche from A$213m to A$250m. They also agreed to underwrite the $38m retail tranche.
