Standard Bank cuts three from Singapore loans

Standard Bank cut three bankers from its loans team last week in a sign that the African lender is shifting the focus of its loans business to distribution.

Sin Ho Moon, Tan Liang Sze and Lawrence Low, who were part of the bank’s Singapore loans team were made redundant early last week.

“The bank is trying to focus more on syndicating deals, whereas the three bankers were more involved in taking participations,” said one loans banker.
