Hong Kong high net worth investors eyeing overseas

Nearly a quarter of high net worth investors see more growth opportunities in overseas investments than within Hong Kong, according to a Charles Schwab survey. Over 80% of those polled plan to change their portfolios within the next six months and 58% will look to increase their allocations abroad.

Asia’s emerging markets are the most popular choice for Hong Kong’s high net worth investor base. Some 22% see that as the key area, compared to 18% who will turn to Australia and 16% eyeing the Middle East. Only 9% of the investors plan to consider the US, ...
