Four in the running for British Car Auction

BC Partners, Bridgepoint, Cinven and Calyton, Dubilier & Rice are all expected to go through to the second round of bidding for British Car Auction.

Its owner Montagu hopes to fetch about £600m in a secondary buyout, the financing for which several banks are looking at, including Bank of Ireland and HSBC.

UBS is advising Montagu which bought the company for £450m in 2006.
