Canara Bank benefits from Taiwanese demand

Canara Bank, an Indian state-owned bank, got strong demand from Taiwanese lenders for a $175m loan — and now wants to increase its deal to $225m.

Canara became only the latest in a long line of Indian financial institutions to tap Taiwanese lenders after ANZ, Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi, BNP Paribas, Crédit Agricole, Mizuho and Standard Chartered launched its three year deal in early December.
