Standard Chartered bankers bullish on Indian growth, even after record numbers

Senior capital markets bankers at Standard Chartered are optimistic about growing their business further in India, despite the country having already become the most profitable region in the world for the emerging markets-focused bank.

Standard Chartered’s operating profit in India rose 13% last year, reaching $1.197bn — almost five times the amount the bank earned across the UK, Europe and the Americas. But senior debt bankers at the firm hope India still has plenty to offer.
