As Goldman Sachs faces another round of lawsuits in the US, it is working overtime to repair its reputation with clients. Recent moves to promote its senior European staff are an important step, as David Rothnie writes.

Goldman is globalising its investment banking division as part of an aggressive push to reinvigorate its client business. But the promotion last month of prominent Europe-based bankers to key positions is also handing power to executives untainted by the damage wrought on the bank’s reputation in the US.
