ANZ picks Thursby as institutional head as Elliot moves to chief financial officer position

Australia and New Zealand Banking Group has promoted Shayne Elliot, chief executive of its institutional bank, to chief financial officer. He replaces Peter Marriot, who is leaving at the end of May.

Elliot is in turn being replaced by Alex Thursby, chief executive of Asia Pacific, Europe and America. Thursby will keep his old job and continue to be responsible for retail and commercial banking in Asia Pacific.
