Woori kicks off international funding with Thai baht bond

South Korea’s Woori Bank raised Bt5bn ($161m) from its first ever bond issue in Thailand’s local debt market, part of a plan to raise around $1bn this year from international investors.

The multi-tranche deal was split between three year, four year and seven year tranches, and priced at the end of last week. Investors placed Bt8.5bn of orders, encouraging the lender to increase the size of the offering from a planned Bt3bn.
