The Queen may have addressed the rabble in Westminster this week but Leak had a royal encounter of our own. Paul Jones the VII of Lloyds — at least that’s what his email address says — and colleague Gaby Carden joined us for lunch at Manicomio.

Our location was such that the rest of the Lloyds staff could see us from the bank’s building opposite — a sure-fire way of avoiding expense fiddling, which as UK taxpayers we find laudable.

The discreet, unremarkable building also avoided being targeted in the anti-capitalist riots in the City. ...
