Barclays draws Chalk from IMF to run EM Asia research

Barclays has appointed a new head of emerging Asia research, picking a former career economist at the International Monetary Fund. Nigel Chalk has taken the job, replacing Peter Redward, who left the firm last year.

Redward left in July 2011, and the bank quickly moved to strengthen its research team by hiring Huang Yiping as chief economist for emerging Asia. But it has now found a direct replacement for Redward, bringing in the former mission chief for China at the IMF.
