Asia sees increase in M&A activity

There has been a 42% year-on-year rise in regional M&A in 2010, according to data provider Dealogic. Equity and debt issuance is also on the rise. Asiamoney.com reviews last week’s key capital markets activity in Asia.

Mergers and acquisition activity was on the rise in Asia-Pacific ex-Japan last week, with US$6.8 billion worth of deals announced.

The largest was Seven Network’s acquisition of Westrac Holdings in Australia in a deal worth US$1.8 billion and announced on February 22.
