FPC keeps up pressure on UK banks to boost capital

UK banks should look at all options to boost their capital, including liability management and issuing contingent capital or equity, the Financial Policy Committee says.

Banks should consider external capital raises, since low earnings growth makes it difficult for them to raise capital internally, the FPC said in its quarterly meeting on September 14.
