China CDS market could lack enough protection sellers

Confusion exists over China’s banking regulators’ plans for credit derivatives and there is a total lack of information about where a diverse pool of protection sellers will come, market participants worry.

Amid speculation over whether the China Banking Regulatory Commission (CBRC) will conduct an about turn and allow banks to use credit derivatives, a new debate is arising over the depth of the protection sellers market.
