SE Asian issuers head to $

Asian bond issuers were largely watching and waiting this week, hoping for the right time to launch dollar deals and help bankers start working through a bustling pipeline. But when they got a sniff of what seemed like the right moment, they did not delay — and four southeast Asian issuers rushed to the dollar bond market on Thursday.

The bulk of supply was due to come from Indonesia. Alam Sutera, Bank Rakyat Indonesia and Star Energy all opened the books to planned dollar bonds. But Filinvest Development Corp, a Philippine conglomerate, also joined the crowd, launching a seven year bullet.
