U.K. Mortgage Lending Plunges In April

The number of loans approved in the U.K. for home purchases and remortgaging plunged 30% in April from the preceding month and 12% lower than a year earlier, according to the Council of Mortgage Lenders.

The number of loans approved in the U.K. for home purchases and remortgaging plunged 30% in April from the preceding month and 12% lower than a year earlier, according to the Council of Mortgage Lenders. CML also reported that loans to first-time buyers sank 48% from March.
