Renminbi internationalisation stalling: Credit Agricole

China needs to speed up the internationalisation of its local currency if it wants to boost the volumes of its renminbi-settled transactions which has declined, says French bank Credit Agricole.

The much touted internationalisation of the Chinese currency may not come to fruition unless China's central bank looks for ways to combat the sharp slowdown in the growth of the renminbi pool in Hong Kong.
