Deutsche responds on capital with €3bn ABB but few likely to follow

Deutsche Bank raised €2.96bn from a heavily over-subscribed capital increase launched on Monday evening, bowing to what had become almost inevitable investor demands to take the capital issue off the table.

It puts Deutsche towards the top of its peer group on a Basel III basis — although some still have questions over its nominal leverage ratio — but few ECM bankers see many other top tier banks raising equity in response.
