Asian bond liquidity to pick up in 2013

Liquidity in Asia’s bond markets will improve this year as global dealers’ inventories of corporate bonds have stabilised and the disintermediation of capital markets will continue apace.

Corporate bond financing will continue to increase in Asia this year as the regulatory drive for capital market disintermediation continues, combined with the incentive of record low yields. This will boost primary market liquidity and offer switching opportunities that will have a positive impact on secondary turnover levels.
