Japanese investors bag USTs, Korea bank debt

An unprecedented amount of quantitative easing from Japan is stimulating local bond investors to pile into global bonds including Korean bank debt. The ripple effect is set to spread across Asia.

Flush liquidity in Japan’s financial markets is firing up a race among local bond investors to buy US Treasuries as well as South Korean bank debt, and bankers say the Japanese bid will also spill over into select Asian bonds.
