Sports Direct block trade sprints to two hour close

Sports Direct’s founder and deputy chairman, Mike Ashley, raised £106m on Wednesday in the second sell-down of his stake in the firm this year.

The sale of 16m shares, 2.7% of the company, was completed in just two hours after the deal was launched just after the close of markets on Wednesday evening, after the trade was covered within the first half an hour of bookbuilding.
