An end to block trade delays as AFME releases model agreements

Delays in the execution of block trades due to extended negotiations should become a thing of the past after the Association for Financial Markets in Europe (AFME) issued model agreements for use across EMEA.

The two documents launched this week — one of which is a pure agency agreement with no backstop underwriting and one of which has an underwriting commitment built in — have been created to reduce the time taken to settle contractual terms for each trade and streamline execution.
