Al Khalij gets $3.5bn book for rare Qatari paper

Al Khalij Commercial Bank was offered a $3.5bn book for its $500m Reg S five year debut note on Wednesday morning. Investors bit off leads' hands for Qatari paper which has been scarce this year.

The deal is the first in dollars from Qatar since April when Qatar National Bank — the only other Qatari bank to have sold bonds this year — sold a $1bn deal. QNB also sold Sfr200m of bonds in June. Corporate paper from the country has also been ...
