Investors brace for rising RMB rates

A rising rates environment in China coupled with capital account liberalisation will lead to quicker rate convergence between the onshore and offshore market –and pique investors’ appetite for floating rate CNH bonds.

A speedier convergence between onshore and offshore renminbi rates in the coming months will lead investors to explore their options for more defensive products to hedge against rising interest rates, which should act as a boon for the nascent dim sum floating rate note market.
