After stellar 2013, corp bond banks eye fizzy start to 2014

Investment grade corporate bond issuance in Europe is all but over for 2013, after a stellar year for issuers and investment banks. Despite the busy issuance of recent months, the beginning of 2014 should be brisk, too, said bankers.

“We’re going to be busy in euros and dollars,” said a syndicate banker at a top 10 house. “Some of the frequent issuers will be there as usual in the first weeks of the year, and others will be wanting to get in ahead of volatility around tapering.”
