Europe’s green recovery: Iberdrola gets EIB-led green loan

Iberdrola, the Spanish energy company, has signed an €800m financing from European development banks for use on renewable projects, days after green bankers said the market could boom during the economic recovery from Covid-19.

Iberdrola has signed the facility with the European Investment Bank and Spain's Instituto de Crédito Oficial which provided €600m and €200m, respectively.

The funds will be used to build more than 2GW of solar photovoltaic plants and wind farms in Spain.
