ING’s Schmeetz moves from FIG to manage markets

Bart Schmeetz is to become ING’s global head of financial markets, replacing Percy Rueber, who is leading efforts to build a trading platform at the Dutch bank.

Schmeetz will take on the job from the start of next year, subject to regulatory approval. The 52 year-old is sector head for financial institutions at ING. He started his career at the bank in 1993.
