Huawei eyes $1.5bn amid trade war tension

Chinese telecommunications firm Huawei Technologies, which has faced the wrath of US president Donald Trump recently, is syndicating a $1.5bn loan amid a “sensitive time” in US-China trade relations. Pan Yue reports.

Huawei is seeking a dual-tranche deal with tenors of five years and seven years, according to a banker at a Chinese lender who received the invitation. She declined to disclose pricing details, but said the loan is tightly priced.
