Housing regulator hires new legislative affairs chief

The Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) has hired a new director of legislative affairs, the housing regulator announced on Tuesday.

The FHFA, which regulates the government sponsored enterprises Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, has hired Sarah Dumont Merchak. Merchak joins the FHFA from USAA, where she was the director of federal government relations.
