Commodities and equities drive record SGX derivatives revenues

Singapore Exchange (SGX) has reported a record contribution to its bottom line from its derivatives business amid strong institutional demand, with Asian equities and commodity risk management needs boosting volumes.

During the first three months of 2019 derivatives volumes hit all-time highs, with the average daily volume surpassing more than 1m contracts for the first time. SGX credited the rise to strong institutional demand from clients using its multi-asset platform.
