Amlo notches tender triumph after persuading Mexcat creditors
Mexico’s new president Andrés Manuel López Obrador (Amlo) is free to proceed with his proposed cancellation of Mexico City’s new airport after bondholders agreed to waive clauses that would have triggered an event of default.
Despite the opposition of some creditors, the finance ministry said its proposed tender offer and consent solicitation had received the “overwhelming support” of the bondholders of Mexico City Airport Trust (Mexcat).
