First Slovenian green bond hits market

The first green bond from a Slovenian borrower came to market this week. SID Bank will use the proceeds for green mortgages and financing low carbon aircraft.


“Financing environmental projects is part of SID Bank’s mandate,” said Robert Vielhaber, director in sustainability bond origination at UniCredit in Munich. “As a development agency, it has a lot of exposure to loans that could potentially be assets for green bonds.”
