TKYB's mortgage securitization plan praised

The Turkish Development Bank is planning to print TL3.15bn ($590m) of securities backed by Turkish mortgages in a move heralded by most onlookers as a positive step in the country’s battle against inflation and recession.

Turkey’s three state owned lenders (Ziraat Bankasi, Halkbank and Vakifbank) will each use their mortgage pools as collateral for TL1bn of issuance while Garanti Bank’s mortgage pool will provide collateral for a further TL150m.
