ESG index tally grows 60% in one year

The number of indices that give exposure to environmental, social and governance (ESG) causes has grown by 60% in the last year, according to a survey conducted by trade body, the Index Industry Association (IIA).

The survey, which covered approximately 98% of indices in the world, indicated that the total number of indices across asset classes and regions grew by 438,000 to 3.73m, an increase of 13% over the year. Fixed income indices grew the most, and now represent 16% of the total. ...
