Updated: South Korea to mandate banks next week for sovereign bond

The Republic of Korea has sent out a request for proposals for a new bond issue, and is expected to select the bookrunning banks by next Tuesday.

A source at South Korea’s Ministry of Finance said the bookrunners will be chosen by July 17. Firms had until July 11 to submit bids. The currency, tenor and timing of the transaction have not been confirmed, said the MoF representative.
